Politics and current affairs influence art in a very imressing way. when some pressing issue come in the light then we start to see them in arts or poems or cartoons that expresses the artist's point of view or thought about that topic. For example, we can see that there were no pictures or cartoons about Obama but he became a part of art work after he joined the race of politics.
There is alot of artwork on issues like civil rights, education, and religion and those poems and pictures delivers messages that really touches heart.
Moreover , I read the poem " money" and it really reflects the truth because money is strength for people because money has power and who has money is powerful, and it changes people completely by making them selfish .
Moreover, the other poem "from seven floors up" is also about very sad and black side of colorful and fantasy world which represent the homeless people.

Politics definitely influence art in many ways. we can also see issues come out in artwork and cartoons like you said. it is a way to express the issue in a different way. it is very clever. i think that it is a good way to express what you are feeling or thinking. good job on your post.
ReplyDeleteI really like what you said politics deffinately has a big part in art. It is interesting to see that you brought up cartoons that is a good point i would not have thought about that. i just think you did an overall great job at really thinking outside of the box and not hoding back your opinion. thanks!
ReplyDeleteI agree with how you think that politics greatly effects art. I never realized before that Obama was not in art like political cartoons until he became president. That is very interesting. It is funny to research the art from time of the great depression to now and see the differences in peoples opinions and styles of life,
